Joes pound their way to 20-12 win!

The Joes made sure this game was in control early and kept the pressure on as they pounded 21 hits and crossed the plate 20 times putting runs on the board in all 6 innings. Eleven players had hits, ten scored, and all got on base in this offensive explosion. The big hit was our first home run of the year as Nick flat out smashed a ball to left center that found the gap and allowed him to clear the bases! I am not sure what was more impressive - how hard he hit the ball or how fast he ran the bases. In fact, Nick had four hits on the night. Mark, Matthew (3), the G Man, Adam (3), Taco, Kai (2), Jacob (2), Peter (2), Hans (a double), and Patrick all had hits. In addition we only had 3 K's in 46 at bats and none of them were looking (which has been a major point of emphasis) - nothing more I can say other than a great offensive night.

In our search for some pitching depth, several Joes toed the mound. Peter started and threw as well as anyone could - 1 walk and 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings. Adam followed with a solid 2 1/3 innings, Nick threw 1/3 of an inning, and Mason was flat-out lights out as he closed out the 6th inning with NO walks.

Defensively, Mark and Garrett both made several nice put-outs from 2B, Nick caught a tough pop up behind 2B from his SS spot and also converted a put-out from 3B (assisted by a great scoop by Henry at 1B), Hans made a spectacular grab of a pop-up at the plate from his catcher's spot, Peter made several put-outs from the mound, Patrick made a nice grab on a fly ball to LF, and Adam leaped to snare a liner headed for LF to end the game from SS. Kai got his first action behind the plate.

A really nice bounce-back win for the Joes.
