The Joes game against Mariemont is officially suspended. We hope to make it up so that we can play a full 5 innings.
More importantly, as we always do, we awarded our HOMER award prior to the game. In a rare occurrence, we had a tie as each recipient was as deserving as the other.
Our first honoree is in just his second year of baseball. But his development and improvement are beyond that of a second year player. He is always at practice, always has a smile, always gives maximum effort, and - as anyone who knows him knows - is as competitive as they come. He can play multiple spots as he has become a student of the game. CONGRATULATIONS M&M - MARK!
Our second recipient needs a nickname so I am asking for input. No one gives more effort. When pitching, he leaves it all on the mound. He attacks every at bat. But most impressively, he is a coach-able player. Not resting on his past, he continually tries to get better and is always respectfully listening to his coaches. And when it is game time his focus is beyond compare. No one competes harder. CONGRATULATIONS MATTHEW!
